Evangelism: Resources

What should we expect from the Sponsoring Church?  From the Barnabas Ministry?

Clearly the Sponsoring Church should be able to provide all kinds of logistical help.  This includes money.  But it also includes people, e.g. a web developer, print shop, leadership training, Alpha materials, etc.

While all of this should be extremely helpful, keep in mind that the new church is not in the same mold as the Sponsoring Church.  So, for example, you should not put your website within the website of the Sponsoring Church (though they may be linked), nor should your website necessarily even look like that of the Sponsoring Church.

The Sponsoring Church may also provide startup materials for progams you'd like to run.  For example, if you'd like to run a session of Men's Fraternity as an Outreach, your Sponsoring Church should be able to help you get it started.

The Barnabas Ministry should provide coaching.  This will include training in all areas of evangelism, as well as leadership training.  Barnabas Ministry members should be available to help in the early stages of the new church, when the manpower is not yet adequate to launch any type of evangelism program.
