6. Finance Environmental Factors 6.1 Outside factors that hurt or help - Location and security atmosphere. The new community should be concerned with safeguarding church assets (See Best Practices - Internal Control). The location of worship and office facilities is important. Responsible security sensitive individuals should establish and maintain custody of physical assets Unfortunately, certain assets such as laptops, cell phones, and sound equipment tend to "walk away" (especially from churches). Refer to "Best Practices - Internal Control" for information on handling currency and checks. 6.2 The office and storage areas should be located in secure facilities.
