Legal and Insurance issues are influenced by:

• The Regulatory environment - local, state and federal.  The pastor and the staff of the new church must be vigilant of changes in federal and state laws and regulations that impact the church, its tax exempt status, sales tax exemption, and its ability to function in harmony with the local community and in complinace with all laws and ordinances.
• The Legal environment.  As churches and religious institutions are increasingly targets for legal actions, the pastor and the staff must insure that policies, guidelines, and operating procedures are in place that will minimize the church's exposure to liability.
• The Insurance environment for churches is dynamic, so the pastor and staff must stay up-to-date and changes in the risk profile of the church and needed coverages to mitigate financial risk.
