Technology Outline 1.1 Technology is essential for churches of any size as it provides a platform to enable the volunteer and paid staff to maximize their time for performance of basic functions. 1.2 Technology assists in communication and recruitment of potential members. It also provides a vehicle for reports that can be used to develop new programs. Technology can provide tools for necessary financial reporting. 1.3 Some of the basic activities are virus protection, financial reports, membership records, communications, back-up capabilities, research capabilities (such as Internet access) and a website for publicity and communications. 1.4 The expected results are that the pastor and other leadership have correct information about the congregation, can communicate easily with both the the congregation and people outside the congregation, perform basic office functions in a cost and time efficientl manner, and use technology tools to help recruit new members. 1.5 This topic will include computer, back-up, a scanner/copier/printer/fax machine, phone, software, and a website. The office services and technology will collaborate on some of the equipment such as a postage machine and the financial team will collaborate on financial software. 1.6 Technology needs to start in at least a minimum way from the very beginning and should coincide with the arrival of the pastor.
