Visitors Guide How To Start

Assumptions

  • There is a launch team that has developed a sense of community among themselves.
  • The launch team has developed or maintained contacts in the community which will enable them to invite people to courses, Bible Study, social events, etc.

When people come to an event at the 'new church', they must be greeted with a smile.  A friendly and open environment will help them feel welcome and they will want to know more.

Food is a draw.

Events that establish a common bond will help people develop relationships.  See High Impact Activities and Building Community Activities for examples.

It is important to gather information about the people who attend events, courses, etc. so that you can maintain the relationship.  Name, address, phone number, and email address should be gathered.  You can also ask why someone has attended a specific event in order to gather information about other needs / interests in the community.

Maintain a contact list so you can follow up with folks and offer them other opportunities to serve, study, participate, etc.
